2016 La Neblina bottle 2

Vineyard Profile

Spanish for “fog,” la neblina rolls in from the Pacific Ocean to blanket and cool the coastal Pinot Noir vineyards of western Sonoma County. This is our flagship Pinot Noir, always a cellar favorite, and is comprised of a complex array of five West County coastal sites on Goldridge soil. With ideal growing conditions approaching harvest, the 2016 vintage context is beautifully captured in this classic La Neblina.

Tasting Notes

The 2016 La Neblina Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir is a wine both spry and enticing in its youth yet with graceful aging potential. Ripe red cherry and raspberry bound out of the glass, balanced by bright strawberry and cranberry notes. A spice mélange envelops the nose, first with vanilla and allspice tones, and finishing with a hint of sarsaparilla. Violets weave their fragrance in and out of the fruit as the wine shifts toward more earthy hues. The 2016 La Neblina finally returns to earth with the slightest hint of button mushroom and forest floor, while round, yet grippy, tannins linger on the palate.

Wine Reviews

“The 2016 Pinot Noir La Neblina is supple, open-knit and absolutely delicious. Understated and gracious, with lovely fruit purity, the 2016 has quite a bit to offer. Sweet red cherry and plum fruit are nicely pushed forward. Succulent and inviting, the 2016 will drink well with minimal cellaring.”
