Planted on a ridge top above the town of Occidental, Belay is our Demeter certified Biodynamic® Estate Pinot Noir. As a company, our ultimate goal to nurture fruit from grape to glass has now become an extraordinary reality. Vertically integrated from harvest to bottling, we find winegrowing a monumental task akin to climbing a mountain, and the Belay has served as both an anchor and stepping stone on this journey of ascent.
With Pinot Noir being an especially sensitive varietal, our vineyard team keeps a watchful eye on the Belay fruit as harvest approaches. Multiple daily checks diligently guide picking, and we are rewarded with full, delicious, turgid berries hand-picked in the cool, coastal morning fog after the year of shepherding. The care and intention devoted to this deeply personal site is evident in the commanding, poised, and noteworthy Belay.
