2019 Radio-Coteau Dusty Lane bottle

Vineyard Profile

Dusty Lane winds down and around Dierke’s organically certified hillside vineyard. Tucked away on a southern facing slope, the site is consistently flushed with onshore cooling at dawn and dusk, resulting in extended flavor development and vibrant fruit character. This vineyard gem is sourced exclusively by Radio-Coteau. Picked in mid-October and with 30% whole cluster inclusion, the 2019 Dusty Lane filled the cellar with intensely expressive aromatics during fermentation. Following a 20-month élevage in 500L neutral oak puncheons, we chose to age this powerful Syrah for an additional year in bottle, further polishing the tannins and fully integrating its compelling profile.

Tasting Notes

The 2019 Dusty Lane Sonoma Coast Syrah beautifully balances red fruit with savory elements, opening with inviting notes of raspberry sorbet and roasted cacao. Touches of herb-marinated Liguria olives and black pepper add an earthy richness and intriguing depth to this medium bodied wine. Velvety tannins and bright acidity delight on the finish, while evolving nuances in glass suggest an age-worthy classic.

“The 2019 Syrah Dusty Lane is a gorgeous Radio-Coteau Syrah full of savory intensity. Amaro herbs, game, incense, black pepper, mint, dried flowers and rose petal soar out of the glass, with bright acids that lend vibrancy throughout. All the elements are so nicely balanced.”
