2018 Radio-Coteau Dusty Lane bottle shot

2022 Spring Release

Vineyard Profile

Dusty Lane winds down and around Dierke’s organically certified hillside vineyard. Tucked away on a southern facing slope, the site is consistently flushed with onshore cooling at dawn and dusk, resulting in extended flavor development and vibrant fruit character. This vineyard gem is sourced exclusively by Radio-Coteau. Ten years after our first vintage from Dusty Lane, the 2018 saw extended hangtime with excellent flavor development at lower potential alcohol. Together with 36% whole cluster inclusion and a 20-month élevage in 500L oak puncheons, the result is an elegantly concentrated expression of Sonoma Coast Syrah.

Tasting Notes

The 2018 Dusty Lane exemplifies coastal Syrah. Bright red fruit shines through savory elements of white pepper, black truffle, and Herbes de Provence, resulting in a vibrant and layered wine. Salted black olive and worn leather notes add further complexity. With a luscious finish and an enduring tannin structure, the 2018 Dusty Lane is simultaneously irresistible and age-worthy, highlighting the depth of cool-climate Syrah.

“The 2018 Syrah Dusty Lane is a wild, exotic wine. Dark red cherry, blood orange, star anise, mint, leather, tobacco and coffee all explode from the glass. Deep, bold and punchy, the Dusty Lane holds nothing back…”
