2016 Harrison Grade bottle

Vineyard Profile

Harrison Grade is our Estate grown Syrah and is situated 800ft above sea level on a ridgetop above Occidental. Organically farmed, hand-harvested, native fermented, and bottled in-house, Harrison Grade Sonoma Coast Estate Syrah is noteworthy and a true grape to glass, vertically- integrated expression by the crew at Radio-Coteau. Stem lignification refers to the previously green stems hardening and maturing. By fermenting with 50% whole cluster, this stem inclusion adds spice, aromatic lift, and structure to the 2015 Harrison Grade Syrah.

Tasting Notes

The 2015 Harrison Grade Syrah delightfully exemplifies a deep concentration marking this smaller-yield vintage. Ripe blackberry and black plum are prominent, alongside a touch of more exotic dragon fruit. Layers of juniper, herbs de Provence, and mild green olive add further complexity, while a hint of grilled meat comes through on the finish. A wine with refined intensity, the 2015 Harrison Grade displays age-worthy tannins while exhibiting youthful charm.

Wine Reviews

March 2017 | (93-95)

“Another dazzling wine, the 2015 Syrah Harrison Grade Estate has a bit more whole cluster influence than the 2014 tasted alongside it, which, among other things, adds a super-appealing upper register of aromas and flavors. White pepper, cranberry, spice and a host of floral/savory notes take shape in the glass, but it is the wine’s overall balance that truly stands out. There is so much to look forward to.”
