“Deep but still classic ruby. The barest trace of wood sets off impressively complex aromas of red and black currant, earth tones and a hint of anise that discreetly continue onto the textured, round and seductive middle weight flavors that also belie a trace of oak though again, it’s sufficiently subtle that it doesn’t intrude. The delicious and attractively lingering finish displays no obvious warmth while delivering good depth and this should be capable of integrating the wood within the first year as there is plenty of dry extract present.”
