2016 Laguna bottle

Vineyard Profile

Planted and organically farmed by proprietor Arturo Robledo and his son Art Jr., this benchland vineyard is located on Laguna Road, just east of Vine Hill. As the vines mature and root systems become more established, the fruit character depth continues, while maintaining an inherent silky fingerprint. The 2016 vintage was bottled after an 11-month élevage, allowing several months of bottle age to combine youthful exuberance with an elegant overall expression.

Tasting Notes

The fresh, ripe fruits of the 2016 Laguna Pinot Noir give this wine a decidedly Russian River character. Juicy black cherry and strawberry jam are showcased along with red raspberry notes. Mild cola, red licorice, and clove further enhance a zesty hint of fennel. Dried herbs including sage and thyme add a savoriness and earthiness to balance this fruit-led expression from the cooler side of the Russian River Valley. A silky fingerprint of bright acidity balances a welterweight body and smooth finish.

Wine Reviews

April 2018 | 92 Points

“The 2016 Pinot Noir Laguna offers striking freshness and tension to play off the bright, forward fruit. The flavors are really popping in this understated, gracious Pinot from Radio-Coteau. The Laguna is the only Pinot in this range that is bottled after eleven months in barrel, which is on the shorter end for the estate.”
