“Eric Sussman and Davida Ebner craft gorgeous wines of place far away from the spotlight many of their colleagues seem to crave. The wines are consistently outstanding, as they are once again this year. Chardonnays are on the brighter side, a reflection of the house style and the vintage. Readers will find many highlights in the Pinot Noirs and Syrahs. The reds see some stem inclusion, more in Syrah than in Pinot Noir, and are done with a minimalist approach that exalts site. The two Zinfandel-based wines are especially impressive. Readers on a budget will also want to check out County Line, a sister label that offers notable value.”
