“In 2017, Eric Sussman drew his Las Colinas bottling from two sites: his own biodynamically-farmed Harrison Grade vineyard in Occidental, and Dusty Lane vineyard, an organically farmed site west of Sebastopol. The wine shimmers with energy, right from the first whiff of bay leaf and chorizo, flooding the palate with green and red fruits, lime and evergreen cherry, a mix that feels indigenous to the West Coast while holding to the genetic spiciness of syrah. If you love the cracked green peppercorn scent of cool-climate syrah, that spice is layered into this wine’s intoxicating aroma and lasts, glistening red.”
