“The 2017 Pinot Noir Dierke is powerful, rich and heady, all of which make it an absolutely joy to taste. The heat of the year comes through in the wine’s virile feel and overall intensity. Dried flowers, mint, tobacco, cedar and licorice all add aromatic nuance, but more than anything else, the Dierke is a Pinot of structure. The 40% stems work so well here, but I would give the wine time in bottle to allow the tannins to soften.”
