“Medium red. Singular nose combines raspberry, licorice, herbal distillate and sandalwood, plus a sweet suggestion of rye whiskey. Then concentrated, fresh and saline, with a tight core of spicy red fruits and dried herbs; I picked up a hint of yellow Chartreuse. Opened to show a dense, seamless texture and a spicy sandalwood character. This is about much more than simply pinot fruit. Finishes very long, dry and bright. This highly complex, utterly captivating pinot noir remains light on its feet in a distinctly Burgundian way.”
