“The 2011 Zinfandel Robert’s Block emerges from a parcel Eric Sussman purchased during the summer of 2012. A huge, inky wine, the 2011 bursts from the glass with generous blue and black-toned fruit, mint and violets. There is no shortage of personality here, but some of the elements are a bit rough around the edges. It will be interesting to see how the 2011 develops over the coming year. Today, though, it does not appear to have the finesse of the best wines in the range. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2026.”
