2019 Las Colinas bottle

Vineyard Profile

The Las Colinas Syrah is indicative of what is possible for cool-climate Syrah as it captures the essence of the western Sonoma Coast appellation. Élevage in 500-liter French oak puncheons helps to preserve fruit and spice, and affords graceful aging in the cellar. In 2019, the pleasantly warm weather approaching fall led to a mid-October harvest and a moderate whole cluster inclusion in the cellar. A barrel selection comprised of biodynamically farmed Harrison Grade Estate and organically farmed Dusty Lane fruit, the 2019 Las Colinas is an instant classic – both in approachability and age-worthiness.

Tasting Notes

Medium garnet in color with an alluring ruby core, the 2019 Las Colinas Syrah fills the glass with fresh blueberry and crushed violet notes interwoven with hints of sweet clove, earthy sous bois, and dried bay leaf. Gliding tannins seamlessly pull together bright traces of huckleberry and spicy black peppercorn, leading into a long and compelling finish.
