2017 Radio-Coteau Laguna bottle

Vineyard Profile

Planted and organically farmed by proprietor Arturo Robledo and his son Art Jr., this benchland vineyard is located on Laguna Road, just east of Vine Hill. As the vines mature and root systems become more established, the fruit character depth continues, while maintaining an inherent silky fingerprint. We hand-selected the most expressive blocks for the 2017 vintage, our last from this distinctly Russian River Valley site. A gentle 11-month élevage in once-used and neutral French oak further nurtured the essence of this lively fruit.

Tasting Notes

With bright, juicy red fruit, the 2017 Laguna Pinot Noir is a classic expression of Russian River Valley. Ripe red cherry, crushed raspberries, and fresh Santa Rosa plum excite both the nose and palate with their elegant vibrancy. Dried rose petals dance along the mid palate, joined by warm spice notes of nutmeg and cinnamon, and a touch of woodland earthiness. Displaying smooth tannins, the weight is soft and luscious, while the well-balanced acidity imparts a freshness that persists enticingly on the palate.

Wine Reviews

May 2019 | 92 Points

“The 2017 Pinot Noir Laguna is pliant and accessible, with soft curves, silky tannins and wonderfully plush red berry fruit. One of the more open-knit wines in the range, the Laguna will drink well upon release. The Laguna is done with entirely destemmed fruit and given shorter élevage relative to the other wines in this range, all of which adds to its accessibility.”
